Hi Luvs,
I just want to share some quick and simple tips to get you started on you path to a healthier, fit, and clean lifestyle. A little background about myself, I am currently 4 months post-partum and in January I decided to make some life style changes to 1) loose weight, 2) keep the weight OFF, 3) be fit, and 4) SLAY, SLAY, SLAY OKAY! :-) No, but in all seriousness I reached 200 pounds when I was pregnant with my daughter and I lost 15 pound immediately. Then I went in for my 6 week check-up and the numbers on the scale were climbing in an upward direction, mainly from having a poor diet. So depressed and devastated about my post baby body I decided to give
Fit Girls Guide 28 Day Jumpstart ebook a try. Let me tell you, I couldn't be happier with my decision. It's a lifestyle not a trend or fad diet. This is not a loose weight quick option by starvation while sipping on lemonade. Its a guide to make a complete lifestyle change. I am currently 3 months in and I'm never going back to the old me. This post is not about trying to solicit Fit Girls Guide to those of you reading this, although I think its awesome, I just want to share some tips to get you started on your healthy lifestyle journey, so check them out below!!
Tackle one small change at a time. My recommendation is to start with food intake, because weight loss is 80% what you consume and 20% exercise. Conquer one first then move to adding the other!
Tip 2- WEIGH & MEASURE
Weigh and measure when you cook to manage portions. Food scales are super cheap and worth having in your kitchen. Lets not forget the measuring cups both for dry and liquids! It takes all the guess work out the equation when you always weigh and measure.
Tip 3-TRACK WHAT YOU EAT
Tracking helps you see the big picture of your overall diet. You can write down what you ate in a food diary or use the thousands of app out there for your smartphone to help you track your food. Trust me, tracking what you eat daily will be eye-opening.
Tip 4-FIND HEALTH ALTERNATIVES
Look for ways to still eat the foods you love, but in a healthier version. For example, I love waffles, so I experimented with simple and clean crepe batter recipe from
Blogilates in the my waffle maker and BOOM I had a beautifully crafted, delicious, healthy, clean waffle without the guilt of consuming a million calories.
Tip 5-NEVER GIVE-UP
Okay, I know, it sounds so cliche! BUT seriously, you will have great days and you will have bad days, but just don't give-up. Take everything meal by meal, not day by day, but meal by meal! Do not let one bad meal decision send you off into a downhill spiral for the whole day, reciting the over used phrase, "well I'll just start over next week since I already ate blazay blazay"! You can do this!
I hope you find this encouraging. I am also new to this lifestyle and this is just me sharing tid-bits along the way to hopeful inspire you to make healthier choices.
Yours truly,
Just Shanise
